About
“A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.”
― Ansel Adams 1983
I'm Mike Fults, a nature and landscape photographer based in Southwest Florida. I came to this through portrait and event work, but it's the natural world — and the slow, patient way of seeing it demands — that I've given myself to.
I'm a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP, PPA), a Florida Master Naturalist (UF/IFAS), and a Certified Interpretive Guide (NAI). Those last two aren't just titles: a naturalist learns to read a place as a web of relationships rather than a pretty arrangement of shapes, and that way of looking doesn't leave me when I pick up a camera. My purpose is simple — to provoke, educate, inform, and guide. I make the photographs, interpret them through writing, and mentor fellow photographers along the way.
